How do I book an Academy service?

Click Book Now in the top bar of our website.
Select Academy from the menu. From there, you’ll see all available services.

A credit card is required to reserve your appointment—standard practice, as we have a 24-hour cancellation policy. You won’t be charged unless you cancel late or no-show.

What’s the difference between an Academy service and a regular salon appointment?

At Society Academy, services are performed by licensed stylists who are here to grow—whether they’re refining advanced techniques, training in a new method, or stepping into the industry.The experience is different in a few key ways:

• Time — Academy services take longer. We recommend planning 2–3 hours for a haircut and 3–8 hours for color, depending on the stylist and service.
• Education setting — You’re in a learning environment. That means more questions, more collaboration, and sometimes more pause-and-review moments.
• Supervision — Every service is checked by one of our expert educators before you leave. Some stylists work more independently; others are closely coached throughout. It all depends on their training path and your service type.
• Pricing — Rates are lower than our full-service salon, but the standard remains high.

It’s a space for growth—for the stylist and the guest. If you’re flexible with timing and open to the process, you’ll leave with great hair and a deeper appreciation for the craft

Who are your instructors?

Our instructors are among the most respected colorists and stylists in LA—sharp, seasoned, and endlessly generous with their craft. They bring real-world expertise and a deep love of teaching to every session, creating an environment that’s both professional and welcoming.

Can I book a color correction or major transformation at the Academy?

Yes, but with a required consultation first.
For any color correction, platinum blonde, or major transformation, we’ll schedule a quick virtual or in-person consultation to make sure we understand your goals and set you up with the right stylist.

Who are your students?

Our Academy guests are styled by a mix of experienced professionals expanding their craft and fresh talent stepping into the industry. Everyone behind the chair is here to grow—and they take that seriously. It’s a learning environment, yes—but one rooted in passion, precision, and real professionalism. Many of our clients come back again and again, not just for the price, but for the energy.

What is the salons cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel your appointment or make any changes, please call or email the front desk at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment. Any appointments canceled within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment will be charged 50% of the a la carte service total. Any appointments canceled within one hour of the appointment or no-showed completely will be charged 100% of the booked services. If you are more than 15 minutes late for your appointment you will be considered a no-show. A valid credit card is required at the time of booking to hold your appointment time and will serve as your default method of payment in the event of late cancellations, late changes, late arrivals or a no show. Prices listed on our website and online booking are starting prices for each service and subject to change based on customer request and individual hair needs.

What if i'm running late?

In consideration of our entire community and scheduling commitments to other clients’, we may need to reschedule any appointment for which you are more than 10 minutes late. If you arrive more than 10 minutes late, you will be considered a "no show” and charged accordingly.

How can I leave a tip?

Tips and gratuity can be left in cash, on the credit card, or sent directly to your stylist using Venmo or Zelle.

Do highlights include a gloss?

All of our services are customized for the individual client and charged a la carte. If you would like a gloss, base, root shadow, or blowout with your highlights you will need to book them in addition to your highlight.

What is an Eco Fee?

877 pounds of waste are created per minute by the beauty industry. Society is in an ongoing partnership with Green Circle to help recycle up to 95% of that waste. An eco fee of $3 is added to each ticket to help recycle the salon waste created during your service. For more information please visit Green Circle.
